Frequently asked questions

The General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 became enforceable on 13 December 2024. It applies to any seller placing physical consumer products on the EU market — including products sold through Etsy and Amazon to EU customers. If any of your buyers are in the EU, GPSR applies to you, regardless of where you (the seller) are based.

Your annual subscription covers every GPSR requirement — nothing is sold separately:

• EU Responsible Person service — we are named as your official EU RP on product listings, satisfying GPSR Article 4.
• Technical file creation — a structured GPSR Article 9 Technical File for each of your products.
• Risk assessment — citing the correct EN standards and REACH Annex XVII entries for your product category.
• Declaration of Conformity — a signed EU DoC ready for your marketplace listings.
• 10-year document storage — all records held and accessible from your dashboard for the duration required by law.
• Authority request handling — if EU market surveillance authorities contact you, we respond on your behalf.
• Marketplace listing support — we help you correctly display your EU compliance details on Etsy and Amazon.

These are two separate GPSR requirements — and both are included in your subscription:

• Technical File — a set of documents (Technical File, Risk Assessment, Declaration of Conformity) you must hold for each product, demonstrating it meets GPSR. Marketplaces may request these at any time.
• EU Responsible Person (RP) — a natural or legal person based in the EU that must be named on your product label and listing. The RP accepts responsibility for GPSR compliance on your behalf in the EU. Without an EU RP, your listing can be suppressed under GPSR Article 4.

Most services offer one or the other. GPSRHub covers both — and everything else you need — in a single annual subscription.

If Amazon or Etsy flags your listing for a missing Technical File, Declaration of Conformity, or EU Responsible Person address, we handle the response. We'll provide the required documentation, help you update your listing, and liaise with the platform compliance team on your behalf. Authority request handling is included — you don't deal with regulators alone.

Founding Member pricing is £349/year — compared to our standard rate of £497/year. It's limited to 50 sellers because we're intentionally keeping the initial cohort small to ensure every founding member gets a properly handled, high-quality compliance setup. Once the 50 spots are filled, the next intake will be at the standard rate. Founding Member pricing is locked for as long as your subscription remains active.

If we cannot get your products fully GPSR compliant — we issue a full refund and cover your first month with another provider. No small print. We're confident enough in what we do to back it completely.

Traditional compliance consultants charge £800–£2,000 per product, take 1–2 weeks, and are trained for B2B supply chains — not marketplace sellers. Generic templates are cheap but produce documents that fail marketplace review because they don't reference the specific EN standards and REACH Annex XVII entries your category requires, and they provide no EU Responsible Person.
